After 33 years of dedicated service, we are announcing the retirement of one of our key leaders. On December 31, 2014, Bill Ensor, will retire from his role as President of Maryland Paving, Inc.
Over the past thirty-three years Bill has overseen the extensive growth of Maryland Paving from a single plant in Aberdeen, Maryland to a network of five plants in the greater Baltimore metropolitan area. Bill has developed a team that takes pride in producing a quality product in a safe and efficient manor while always focusing on the highest standards of customer service.
Bill has been involved in countless associations. Among these are the Maryland Asphalt Association (MAA), and the National Asphalt Association (NAPA). He has been an active member of NAPA since the early 1980s, serving on multiple committees. Bill served as the Chairman of NAPA in 2014. During the 2014 Annual Meeting he was recognized for his service as chair of the Engineering Advisory Council (EAC), which works to identify key engineering issues for the industry and to advance the implementation of solutions and technologies that improve pavement quality, performance, cost effectiveness, and sustainability. During the same meeting he was also honored with the Asphalt Ambassador commendation for his engagement with state and federal lawmakers on behalf of the industry. Bill served as chair of the EAC and its predecessor from 2006 through 2013. Bill has worked on multiple NAPA task forces dealing with recycling, warm mix, and energy use over the years, and he led the development of the Diamond Quality Commendation program. Bill served on the board of directors of The Maryland Asphalt Association (MAA) since 1990 and was the MAA chairman for 1999-2000.
Bill Ensor’s dedication to this company will not be forgotten. We will miss him greatly. Please join me in wishing him the best in the next steps of his journey.
As a result of Bill’s retirement, Jeff Graf will assume the role of Executive Vice President and General Manager of Maryland Paving. Jeff will report directly to Rick Scheetz COO Maryland Paving. Jeff has been with Maryland Paving for twenty-two years. Jeff brings a wealth of market knowledge, technical and industry expertise to his new role. Please join us congratulating and welcoming Jeff as he assumes his new role.
